Poem in Your Pocket Day
Save the date: Poem in Your Pocket Day 2014 will be held on Thursday, April 24.
On Poem in Your Pocket Day, people throughout the United States select a poem, carry it with them, and share it with others throughout the day.
Poems from pockets are unfolded throughout the day with events in parks, libraries, schools, workplaces, and bookstores. Create your own Poem in Your Pocket Day event using ideas from the website.Poem in your Pocket Day Ideas
Ideas:
·
Keep a poem in a pocket to read. Collect
signatures on the back of your poem each time you read it. We can use library
time to create or copy the poems for pockets.
Maybe each grade can pick one of these ideas…..
·
Write poems and post them throughout the school.
Haiku poems fit perfectly on a sticky note.
·
Print out multiple copies of favorite poems to
trade.
·
Pass out a poem with each lunch tray.
·
Open Mike to read your poem at breakfast.
·
Poem in the potty. Poems to read on the bathroom
doors.
·
Poem puzzle. Ms. Kate is already on this one.
